Privacy Policy
Bowl ("Bowl", "we", "us") is a pet social app where owners share photos of their pets and friends can "Pat" (a free like) or "Feed" specific pets. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By creating an account or using Bowl, you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run the app:
- Account & identity — when you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your email address and name, and we create a Bowl user ID. (With Apple, you may choose to hide your email; we then receive Apple's private relay address.)
- Profile & pets — your username, display name, bio, and the profile/cover images and pet details you add (pet name, category, breed, birthday, and pet photos).
- Content you create — posts (photos and captions), comments, and hashtags.
- Activity — Pats, Feeds, follows, and your in-app coin balance and daily-reward streak (coins are a free in-app currency with no monetary value).
- Device & notifications — if you enable push notifications, we store your device's push token so we can deliver alerts (e.g. a new follower, Pat, Feed, or comment).
- Diagnostics — if crash reporting is enabled, we collect anonymised crash and error data (via Sentry) to fix bugs. This does not include the content of your posts or messages.
We do not collect precise location, we do not run third-party advertising, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
2. How we use your information
- To create and operate your account and profiles.
- To show your posts and pets to other users and power the feed, Explore, and social features.
- To send push notifications you've enabled.
- To operate the free coin / daily-reward system.
- To keep Bowl safe — reviewing reports, removing content that breaks our Terms of Use, and enforcing blocks.
- To diagnose crashes and improve the app.
3. How your information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers who help us run Bowl, and with other users as part of how the app works:
- Other users — your profile, pets, posts, and public activity are visible to other people in the app.
- Supabase — our backend and database host (authentication, storage, database).
- Google & Apple — sign-in providers, and Apple Push Notification service for notifications.
- Sentry — crash diagnostics, when enabled.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Bowl and its users.
4. Data retention & deletion
We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, pets, posts, comments, and related data from our systems. Some records may persist briefly in backups before being overwritten.
5. Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored on our provider's managed infrastructure with access controls. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
6. Children
Bowl is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to object to certain processing. You can exercise most of these directly in the app (edit profile, delete account) or by contacting us at suppakit_olympus@hotmail.com.
8. International transfers
Bowl is operated with infrastructure that may process and store data in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and update the "Last updated" date. Significant changes may also be announced in the app.
